Living in India is Fantastic!

April 20th, 2008 Posted in India, Personal | No Comments »

So I’ve been in India for about 3 months now, and I’ve gotten very comfortable with my surroundings. It’s not like at first where I was jumping at anything that seemed out of place which was pretty much everything. I now stroll down to the internet cafe like I’ve been here for my whole life, but something has happened to me that has me forgetting how crazy and awesome it is to be living here.

So I basically sit in this internet cafe all day working. Other than that, I’m at the gym in the morning, and I buy fruits in the evening while I try to learn Hindi on the walk there. As you can see, I’m definitely not your typical tourist, but that’s the way I like it. Actually, I’m not a tourist at all

I haven’t even seen one major monument or tourist location in Lucknow. I’ll be sure to visit them before I leave, but until then, I’m just acting like I’ve been here for my whole life.

However, I am forgetting how unbelievable and amazing it is for me to be living here at age of 22.

I realized this when I took my standard 10 minute break after a hard 50 minute work session. I walk outside into the bright sun that’s blasting warm air to my face and think. Ah hah…

I’m in INDIA!!! How in the world did I get here? This is freaking amazing!

It was one of those realizations that made me reflect back and think of how unpredictable my life has been for the past few years. I would have NEVER of thought I would be living india just a year back. I would probably have called you crazy to even suggest it.

But now I’m here, and there is no turning back. Awesome.

Now I can only imagine what the future holds for me or should I say, how I will hold my future. :)

The Rawness of Human Nature

April 19th, 2008 Posted in Human Nature, India | No Comments »

A huge realization I have is that the way I was raised and things I believe are very different from the beliefs of the people I am interacting with in India. This is quite a complicated subject, so I will only graze the surface in this post.

I was raised in a nice bubble. My mom always did the best to keep me away from the “evils” of society. I guess one of those things would be to keep me away from people who places little value on my life. Another thing was to keep away from bad neighborhoods where people are not so fortunate. I guess those may go hand and hand sometimes.

The result is that I grew up in a fantasy land. The people around me or the ones I chose to be around were not worried about their basic well being which forced them to focus on their greater self. This is what most people refer to as the upper levels of Maslow’s hierarchy.

A Blessing in Disguise

April 18th, 2008 Posted in Personal | No Comments »

So I’m sitting at my desk at Credera (my old job) in a euphoric mental state. I had just recently spent a weekend with a group of guys who think very differently from the masses. I was in such an amazing mental state that the everything in the world felt like the most beautiful thing in existance. Nothing could possibly go wrong, because wrong didn’t exist.

I walked around the office with a beaming smile and an uplifted face. People were reacting to me extremely positively as if I was radiating some aura though it was probably just a simple innate human mechanism to respond to their surroundings and match the feelings of others.

The Things You Don’t Know

April 17th, 2008 Posted in Motivational | No Comments »

I have recently gone through some very real experiences in my life. By real, I mean that I really felt it deeply, and it will forever change the way I look at things in life. It is easy to be a thinker and philosopher, but to actually experience the things you think about is a whole another experience altogether.

So… the things you don’t know… what the heck do I mean!

Bridging TypeCarl to CarlZetterlund

April 10th, 2008 Posted in Personal | No Comments »

I have to confess that I have done a very poor job transitioning my old readers into this blog. I can make all sorts of excuses as to why I left readers hanging, but I don’t think that will do any good. I will try best to fill in what has happened between my last post on TypeCarl.com to the present moment.

Blogging on TypeCarl.com was a sort of experiment. I never saw myself as a writer especially someone who writes about himself. I actually used to despise people who had blogs, but that was during my more ignorant years.

Anyway, here’s a brief overview to help bridge the gap between my old blog, TypeCarl, to this new blog.

When I finally saw one of my niches take off, I knew this was the opportunity of a lifetime I was looking for. I forgot about everything else in my life to exploit it to the max.

Initial Impressions of India

April 3rd, 2008 Posted in India | 2 Comments »

I wanted to write down my initial impressions of India before they were long distant memories. I’m already very comfortable in India despite the fact I still can’t communicate in Hindi. Keep in mind that this is really initial impressions of Lucknow as India is extremely diverse in itself.

The first experience was arriving at New Delhi International Airport. I initially taken back by the foul smell, but quickly realized that this is what my friend had referred to as the smell of pollution. You get quickly used to it, but it won’t be anything you’ve ever smelled before if you’re from America (unless you like to smell car exhaust for extended periods of time).

The airport itself was in terrible shape by American standards. I didn’t have any idea where to go, so I just followed everyone else and hoped I wasn’t doing anything stupid. However, the process was still quite smooth, so it really didn’t matter.

My Top Affiliate Challenge Audition Video

My Top Affiliate Challenge Audition Video

I’m incredibly excited to say that my Top Affiliate Challenge video audition is up and running here:

http://topaffiliatechallenge.com/users/czett

It looks like the time and effort I put into the video may pay off, but this is just the beginning. I have make sure that viewers vote me highly if I want to stay in the Top 10. The Top 10 auditions automatically gets a spot on the show, and there will also be 2 more auditions chosen from the top 25 percent.

For those that aren’t into Internet Marketing, Top Affiliate Challenge is a online reality show that will have 3 gurus coach 12 contestants. The winner will be chosen by the person who is most successful in making money, which is quite a contrast to other reality shows.

Another unique aspect is that it will be a very open show for the viewers. Everyone will see what the contestants are doing, so this is a chance for someone to really put their game to a new level. The best part is that I think it will get more people into Affiliate Marketing, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some of my friends get into it.

The concept is fantastic, and I think this show will do very well. I’m excited to be auditioning for it, and I hope to become a contestant. Now I need to get my all friends to vote for me :) (make sure you only vote once a day).

Carl

P.S. There is a Super Vote option on my audition page. You pay $5 and you get to give me 25 Perfect 10 Votes. The catch is that you also have to give 25 Perfect 10 Votes to other people as well.

P.P.S I just realized it’s April Fools… Trust me, this ain’t no joke!

Top Affiliate Challenge Video

I’ve been spending all of my time finishing my video audition for Top Affiliate Challenge. If you don’t know, it is a new internet reality show for Internet Marketers. It is supposed to one up the last internet reality show called the The Next Internet Millionaire.

Creating a video was much harder than I expected because you act differently in front of a camera. Another problem is that you always spend too much rambling which will disinterest the viewer. We tried to solve both of these issues with a lot of practice and getting the script down right.

I’m currently putting the video audition together using iMovie. I should have it submitted soon. After I submit, you’ll be able to vote for my video to help me improve in the rankings.

Anyway, I’m going to finish the editing, and I’ll let you guys know when it’s finished.

A Fresh Start on CarlZetterlund.com

March 23rd, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

I’ve returned to blogging after a long break. About 8 months ago, I started a personal blog at TypeCarl.com. I posted about my personal experience trying to make enough money to get myself out of the hole I put myself in.

Towards the end of October, I started to see some real results which took my attention away from the blog. Now I’m ready to start again at CarlZetterlund.com with a new perspective.

This new perspective was created by my first success in Internet Marketing as well as a huge shift in my strategy to achieving my goals. This is something I will talk about in this blog, so I won’t get into it now.

The main purpose of the blog is to keep me focused on my goals. I feel a great way to focus your mind is to refine ideas by writing them down. A blog is a great platform for others to throw in their input as well. I’m don’t know everything, but at least I know I don’t know everything.

A secondary purpose of the blog is to offer an open look into my life. This is primarily to build trust with others. I’m currently sitting in India and this makes it much harder to connect with people who aren’t here. Hopefully I can build relationships in a long distance fashion.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to send me a message anytime.
